Just wrote a new poem because I was in the mood for writing one. I don’t think it came out too well, but it’s a start since I’ve been so blocked recently. Just playing with the random word generator and this is what came out:

Inside me the feelings swell like hatching butterflies
Ready to soar into the day and live their lives.
But what welcomes them is not what they expect
And the butterflies retreat into the safety of their cocoons.
The butterflies are not ready to see this world
That they have so hastily been welcomed to.
Behind my eyes the tears swell like ebbing waves
Crashing on the soft sand of the palest beaches.
Warm waters that spread in the light of the moon;
That grow and drown everything in its murky expanse.
The seas ebb and way
At no one’s expense but their own internal pull.
Around me people swell,
Grow and live and change and leave.
Around me, these people warm and rise to the music in their hearts
That I do not have.
These people are not me
And don’t know of the swelling aches and pains that adorn my body inside and out.
